S.A.D.

Twenty years ago, February 14 is celebrated as the Valentines Day. I can even remember myself as a kindergarten student: I’m making a valentine card for my parents, saying how much I am thankful and grateful to have them. It’s like Valentines Day is the most special day for everybody who’s got themselves people which their strings are attached on. People who have relationships.

Around five years ago, they celebrate February 14 as the Hearts Day. Everybody’s sending each and everyone they with SMS which says: Happy Hearts Day rather than the old-fashioned Happy Valentines Day. People are more expressive. They send flowers, chocolates, do the lovapalooza or whatever “cool” thing they have in mind.

But this year, the Valentines-Day-Happy-Hearts-Day has evolved into something different again! Like the online casino which has made some pimpin’ a few days back. Now, everybody calls February 14 as S.A.D -  Singles Awareness Day. Funny but it’s really true. At friendster bulletin board, everybody’s posting like Happy Singles Awareness Day! Maybe a lot of my friends on friendster hasn’t got any date or a boyfriend/girlfriend that they tell everyone they’re celebrating S.A.D., or they got themselves a date/bf/gf for today that they want to tease those without a date to remind them that they are still Singles. What in the world??? Funny, but it’s how things go at the moment. So, happy S.A.D. to me!

Sports fanatic

In my younger years, I am fond of watching all kinds of sport. I really love to see individuals, with such talents, compete decently with each other. I find it very entertaining watching the thrills and excitements that go with each of these games. In short, I was actually a sport fanatic at a very young age. From indoor to outdoor games; from moderate to extreme games; from tables, courts, arenas, or even domes; you name it, and I can tell you why, who, and what I like about it. Well, I mostly got the influence from my dad, who was a fervent Chicago Bulls & Michael Jordan aficionado. As the saying goes “It runs in the blood”.

As years passed, I got myself into different kinds of sport and tried it, first hand. I learn playing basketball and volleyball during my Elementary days. In my High school days, I played softball and baseball and I even tried playing soccer. I gave a shot on bowling, billiards (pool), and even games in the track and field as well. There are also sports that I would really love to play but for some technical and practical reasons, I can’t. Like golf, for instance, I can’t play this because for now I can’t afford it. I would also love to see myself in an American football or a rugby game but that won’t likely be happening because it’s not being played here in the Philippines. I also want to see myself on race tracks racing like there’s no more tomorrow.

From my childhood days up to now, I really aspire to be a “sports star”. Someone who is admired and looked up to. Someone who is loved and appreciated by people because of the talents, skills and the passion he pours into his game. But reality bites. I am not as good as a Michael Jordan or a Babe Ruth or a David Beckham. It could just happen in my daydreams and fantasies. Well, what could I do? Life’s fair enough not to give men all things this world could ever have. We should find contentment within ourselves. They say, “to win a game you must defeat yourself first”. At least I tried and enjoyed playing while getting extra learning from it. And I am very much happy just watching in the sidelines.

Retirement

I am still 21 years old and already saving for my retirement. What do you think about it? Is it bad? After watching Oprah (Oh hell, Ana’s going to freak out if she’ll learn that I am now an Oprah convert) I learned that it isn’t a bad idea after all if I’ll get a retirement plan even if I am 21 years old. For her, it is a good idea to be planning about it in as early as now. I’ already saving up to get a life insurance, money for a nursing home just to be ready if nobody wants to take care of me when I grow old, a house, and all the things that will make me become a squillionaire when I reach the end point. I think it’s not a bad idea if I save up for my future. I’m already 21 and I am not getting any younger any more. I think I have to lay out my life blueprint, ask God to guide me about it, bless it, so that I will be following a direction that has his blessing and a direction that is according to his will.

A nursing home is in fact, a good place to retire (if I will be single for life). You have the other oldies to stay with you until you die. But I hope I’ll have Alzheimer’s so I won’t be bothered about “Why isn’t any family member visiting me?”..But I’d love to keep some memories too. Oh, I think that’s not Alzheimer’s that I would want to have. Probably I would want something like–selective amnesia. I think that’s better. But wait, I can’t hurt and injure myself to get selective amnesia. That would be so gross, eh? Maybe, just maybe, I would have it if I would throw the memories of family members away towards the oblivion. hhmm..  I think that’s better. It’ll be sad, but that’s better. Or…since I have my retirement plan laid out carefully, I would spend some of my money in having a general anesthesia every time I feel sad. General Anethesia could make me forget somehow. But that would be stupid, isn’t it?

Grey clouds

When I was just a kid, my mom keeps on telling me to not to count the eggs until they’re hatched. It is a cliche but I think it should not be disregarded since it came from the magical box of golden rules. Anyway, for a couple of days now, my mom’s been pursuing an “I told you so” conversation with me because of “counting the eggs until they’re hatched”.  I am supposed to be on my way to North Mindanao at this hour but I can’t not because I am sick or anything, but because I don’t have enough money to go there. Yes I have the money to be used for my fare, but I can’t go just with that. I am human with other needs too, that’s why I have to get the means to cover for my needs. Actually, I am thinking of playing in an online casino. Who knows? This might be my lucky day! I am a risk taker just like my Dad. But being a risk taker that my Dad is, he (admittedly) said that he had lots of wrong choices that he made that resulted to the scarcity we’re having now. No, my Dad’s not a gambler, not even equal to being one, but he’s had lost something in his own “game” in life and now he’s trying hard to not to lose again. I think my Dad’s really brave, you know. Unlike some other dads out there, when they lose, they lose hope and stop trying. An online casino might be a good choice for me at the moment. Maybe a little yoga would do so that I can get the pot money and get my ass moving from this place.

online selling

I hAve mentioned having a shopping cart in your website in my previous entry. Yes, you can actually have it it Ashop. I have friends (already a number of them) who made themselves “online sellers” and really got rich and famous in the internet world. If you want to make the most out of your time, why not try your luck with selling online? You see, you can never really tell on what’s going to happen in the nearing future. You have to make a move in order for you to succeed in life. Yes, you have that very wonderful job with a high compensation, and the best part of it is you work only about 8-10 hours a day. You see you only have spent 1/3 of your day. You made money, though quite a lot, but come to think of it: YOU CAN EARN MORE. You only have to have the patience needed in this blogging or online selling venture, but you’ll really be surprised in how much you can actually earn through it. Also, adding some stuff in your website such as the shopping cart software that I have been talking about makes you move faster–giving you three times speed for your business’ movement. Patience, wits, and guts (and of course, good materials to be sold) are all you need. Be a part of the latest trend. Let Chikamarket know how far you have gone in your online selling by adding a comment below. Thanks!

Earn money

Chikamarket is here again to help you. In my previous entry, you might have read that you can actually earn through blogging. Here’s one more thing. You can earn through on line selling too! Isn’t that great? There are lots of you who really have this good marketing and communicating strategies deep within your skin. Some are just natural, some also have acquired it through financial management and marketing classes. So anyway, if you have cash on hand which is about Php1,200 pesos, you can actually get yourself a website, keep it running, put some Adsense to it, and make it as an online shopping website. Yes, online shopping website! Sell everything that you can and see what it can do to you. You don’t need to worry about “Who’s going to buy my stuff?” questions. All you need to do is grab your chair, take a deep breath and start making friends on line. When you make at least one friend online, draw it to your website and have him or her take a look at your stuff and see if he or she is interested in it. You make friends, then later, you earn money. Get a paypal for easier transactions.

So moving on, if you have a website, place a shopping cart software in your site for the “convenience of your shoppers”. Yes, you’ve read it right! A shopping cart will let your shoppers just place in the stuffs that they have eyed on then, you will instantly know how many stuffs have you sold that day. It’s easier for your shoppers and it’s also easier for you. If you have more questions, feel free to ask or read the next entry. Good luck!

Yes, you have read it right. You only have to blog to get money. It’s what we call blog advertising. You simply write something for a website, include their anchor text and link it to the website. And with that, with only one link you can earn about $2-$25 per anchor text! Plus, you don’t only get to blog for one site, you can actually receive as much blog assignments as you can, depending on how you update your site. That’s it! You can just google it and see what I am talking about. Google it, now! Some people have bought them a nice home, a fast car, appliances, got them out of college (blogging paid their tuition fees), and much more. How about you?
