The Beatles Night

I am still surprised of why they’re not going for The Songs of the 90s this week on American Idol Season 7. Maybe they’re trying to build singers who can sing the old poprock, ballads, and other genre other than what we always hear nowadays –RnB and Pop. The songs of the Beatles are a lot more challenging too, and this may also be one of the reasons why they haven’t went on with The Songs of the 90s this week. Oh well.. I have my own set of favorite songs made by the Beatles..I hope Ramiele’s going to pick one of these songs…

♥ All you need is love
♥ Besame Mucho
♥ Blackbird *but I don’t think this song suits Ram’s voice and style
♥ Here, there, everywhere
♥ Hey Jude
♥ I will
♥ In my life
♥ I’ve got a feeling
♥ Let it be * This should be sung by David Archuleta!
♥ Love me tender
♥ Obla-di, Obla-da *I actually like this song—-I miss my Dad so much..Frown
♥ ‘Till there was you
♥ Yesterday

hhhm.. I got a feeling that Amanda and Carly will make it to the top this week.. I just can feel it.. I hope Ramiele’s going to choose the right song for her this time….*fingers crossed*

I can’t wait ’til tomorrow’s American Idol show!

I love Ramiele!!!

Ramiele Malubay is T.oo M.uch T.o H.andle! She’s not just gorgeous..she’s sweet..she has a really good  voice..plus..she is just so natural. Even though there are pictures of her in the internet that shows her not-so-good-image, still I think she’s nice. Wtf!? Anybody can pose like that! I mean, the girl’s just having fun with friends and coworkers when they took that pic. It’s not like she’s creating a pornographic material. If you see those pictures, you can really tell that she’s just having fun with her friends–no BIG deal. Period.

Anyway, I was so glad to have heard her sing one of my favorite songs of all time — Against All Odds. She had her own arrangement of the song and I think it was really good. But…I just have one issue about her singing…….. she should let it all out.. I mean, she had it pretty fine, but I think she hasn’t shown her real vocal talent yet. I only wish Lani Misalucha (who is in the States right now) should come and see her and give her words of inspiration. I know she has the talent that’s why America’s voting for her. She should let her true talent come out before it’s too late. People might get lazy to vote for her. That’s a sad truth.. but…I really like her anyway. I had her picture on my phone’s wallpaper and screensaver. I really like her a lot.

Ramiele’s really pretty in this picture. She’s just so pretty in her every angle. Danny Noriega and her looks cute too. They’re friends. Wow.. I hope that American Idol’s going to end soon so that Ramiele will be visiting the Philippines already. I bet many of her fans wants to see her in person.. hhmm.. when that time comes, I hope I can fly to the north to see her.. waaaah. She’s so pretty.

Well, I know she’ll make it until the last episode. She has the talent…and I really believe in her.

Another Pro-Ramiele Blog Entry

Nobody really knows how far will all the TOP 16 American Idol Season 7 contestants go after this week’s elimination…Nobody knows, even the judges doesn’t know. But, I am confident that my American Idol Season 7 bet, Ramiel Malubay will go a long way…Maybe longer than Jasmine Trias, who knows, right? For as long as there are a million of both Filipino and Americans who will vote for her in every elimination week, I think she’s going to be alright. Jasmin Trias won the third place in Season 3 because of the call votes she got from the State where she came from –Hawaii. So I guess, Ramiele will be just fine.

I don’t know why Ramiele hasn’t got a wikipedia page yet, but I hope somebody will write about her soon. Anyway, when you go to www.google.com and search in the words, Ramiele Malubay, the first 10 pages out of 8,590 is pretty interesting to note. The very first search comes from www.americanidol.com (which I think is the official website of the contest), which says “Ramiele Malubay–Top 24 contestants”. Second in rank is from an American Idol fan page which posts videos of past performances of this season’s Top 24 contestants from week 1. The third page is again another fan site which corrects Ramiele’s name spelling, stating that Ramiele comes with only one L. The fourth page feature is another weblog about Ramiele Malubay saying she’s far from the bottom two. The fifth was another wordpress blog for Ramiele (gosh..with this, I know she’s getting the vote of the Filipinos in the US who watches American Idol). THe sixth is a forum which is pro-Ramiele..(haha).. The seventh page is a profile in Myspace.com, made maybe by a fan of Ramiele. The eighth page was quite interesting because it stated: How tall is Ramiele Malubay?..it was answered by Yahoo! answers..cool… the answer says she’s 4′11″.. and the tenth page was from ricky.org… another pro-Ramile site! whew! Btw, I have been to Ramiele’s official website, I hope you come to visit it there and show some love!

Vote for Ramiele Malubay (74854)

This is the third week for the American Idol Season 7. They said that this week’s theme will be Songs of the 80s. I wonder what Ramiele Malubay, a Filipino-American semi finalist, will sing. I hope she considers singing one of my favorite 80s song. Here is the list of my favorites from the 80s:

•  Heaven  (Bryan Adams) •  When I see you smile (Bad English) • Eternal Flame (Bangles) • Time and Tide (Basia) • Against All Odds (Philip Collins) • I want to know what love is (Foreigner) • Let’s Wait Awhile (Janet Jackson) • Right Here Waiting (Richard Marx) • It Must have been Love (Roxette) • Do That to me One more Time (Captain and Tenille) •

Ramiele Malubay’s voice is really cool for slower songs. I hope she will not again choose another song that unfits her singing abilities and her style. She should go for songs that she likes singing, even if they’re all slow songs. I am a fan of many good, local and international, singers and I really wouldn’t mind if a singer cannot sing a fast song. Who cares? At least, if that singer can’t sing a fast song but she can be really great with the slow ones, that’s totally okay. Not all “fast songs” singers too are gifted with versatility to sing slow songs…and Not all “slow songs” singers are gifted with versatility to sing fast songs also. Let’s consider Leah Salonga, she only has a few pop and not-so-fast songs in many of her albums being released…and, honestly, Pop doesn’t really suit her. What I am trying to emphasize is, Ramiele’s lullaby singing is totally okay. At least, we all get to sleep sweetly and peacefully when she sings.

Another Filipina in American Idol?

Ramiele Malubay (born September 6, 1987) is a Filipino-American young lady who made herself the only Asian-American who was able to join the semi-finals in the season 7 of American Idol.

For the first week, she sang “You Don’t Have To Say You Love Me” by Dusty Springfield, which knocked off all the three judges, including Simon. Actually, I haven’t seen Ramiele’s perfomances in the regional and hollywood phases. The first time I saw her sing was when the semi finals started..and I have to say this, she really, really sounds like a true Filipina singer. The quality of her voice, her singing style and everything! That if you visit the Philippines, you will most probably hear Ramiele’s voice everywhere… Okay, this is something that is not negative okay? What I am trying to say is, most of the Philippine singers today have this “very usual” way of singing..that even if you only hear one of these singers over the radio, you will automatically say..”Ah..that’s a Filipino voice.” ..that the best Filipino singers today (even if they sing different genres) sing the same tune! and Ramiele’s really, really one of them. When she sang “You Don’t Have to Say You Love Me”, I told my Mom that she sang a “Filipino Karaoke Hit”— which is totally cool because even she’s already living in the US, she still brought the Philippine flag with her.
On the second week, she sang a fast song entitled “Don’t Leave Me This Way”, which all the three judges didn’t buy. They said that the song was not a really, really good choice for her…and I kinda agree with them. Simon said, that even with her not-totally-cool-performance last week, he still thinks that Ramiele’s one of the top 3 best contestants in this season. That wasn’t all bad, I guess. If and only if I am in the United States of America right now, I will really be voting for Ramiele.  I hope all the Filipinos out there will support our fellow Filipina..74854 is her number.

As we can all recall, the American Idol Season 3’s third place finalist, Jasmine Trias, was also a Filipino-American.

S.A.D.

Twenty years ago, February 14 is celebrated as the Valentines Day. I can even remember myself as a kindergarten student: I’m making a valentine card for my parents, saying how much I am thankful and grateful to have them. It’s like Valentines Day is the most special day for everybody who’s got themselves people which their strings are attached on. People who have relationships.

Around five years ago, they celebrate February 14 as the Hearts Day. Everybody’s sending each and everyone they with SMS which says: Happy Hearts Day rather than the old-fashioned Happy Valentines Day. People are more expressive. They send flowers, chocolates, do the lovapalooza or whatever “cool” thing they have in mind.

But this year, the Valentines-Day-Happy-Hearts-Day has evolved into something different again! Like the online casino which has made some pimpin’ a few days back. Now, everybody calls February 14 as S.A.D -  Singles Awareness Day. Funny but it’s really true. At friendster bulletin board, everybody’s posting like Happy Singles Awareness Day! Maybe a lot of my friends on friendster hasn’t got any date or a boyfriend/girlfriend that they tell everyone they’re celebrating S.A.D., or they got themselves a date/bf/gf for today that they want to tease those without a date to remind them that they are still Singles. What in the world??? Funny, but it’s how things go at the moment. So, happy S.A.D. to me!

Sports fanatic

In my younger years, I am fond of watching all kinds of sport. I really love to see individuals, with such talents, compete decently with each other. I find it very entertaining watching the thrills and excitements that go with each of these games. In short, I was actually a sport fanatic at a very young age. From indoor to outdoor games; from moderate to extreme games; from tables, courts, arenas, or even domes; you name it, and I can tell you why, who, and what I like about it. Well, I mostly got the influence from my dad, who was a fervent Chicago Bulls & Michael Jordan aficionado. As the saying goes “It runs in the blood”.

As years passed, I got myself into different kinds of sport and tried it, first hand. I learn playing basketball and volleyball during my Elementary days. In my High school days, I played softball and baseball and I even tried playing soccer. I gave a shot on bowling, billiards (pool), and even games in the track and field as well. There are also sports that I would really love to play but for some technical and practical reasons, I can’t. Like golf, for instance, I can’t play this because for now I can’t afford it. I would also love to see myself in an American football or a rugby game but that won’t likely be happening because it’s not being played here in the Philippines. I also want to see myself on race tracks racing like there’s no more tomorrow.

From my childhood days up to now, I really aspire to be a “sports star”. Someone who is admired and looked up to. Someone who is loved and appreciated by people because of the talents, skills and the passion he pours into his game. But reality bites. I am not as good as a Michael Jordan or a Babe Ruth or a David Beckham. It could just happen in my daydreams and fantasies. Well, what could I do? Life’s fair enough not to give men all things this world could ever have. We should find contentment within ourselves. They say, “to win a game you must defeat yourself first”. At least I tried and enjoyed playing while getting extra learning from it. And I am very much happy just watching in the sidelines.

Retirement

I am still 21 years old and already saving for my retirement. What do you think about it? Is it bad? After watching Oprah (Oh hell, Ana’s going to freak out if she’ll learn that I am now an Oprah convert) I learned that it isn’t a bad idea after all if I’ll get a retirement plan even if I am 21 years old. For her, it is a good idea to be planning about it in as early as now. I’ already saving up to get a life insurance, money for a nursing home just to be ready if nobody wants to take care of me when I grow old, a house, and all the things that will make me become a squillionaire when I reach the end point. I think it’s not a bad idea if I save up for my future. I’m already 21 and I am not getting any younger any more. I think I have to lay out my life blueprint, ask God to guide me about it, bless it, so that I will be following a direction that has his blessing and a direction that is according to his will.

A nursing home is in fact, a good place to retire (if I will be single for life). You have the other oldies to stay with you until you die. But I hope I’ll have Alzheimer’s so I won’t be bothered about “Why isn’t any family member visiting me?”..But I’d love to keep some memories too. Oh, I think that’s not Alzheimer’s that I would want to have. Probably I would want something like–selective amnesia. I think that’s better. But wait, I can’t hurt and injure myself to get selective amnesia. That would be so gross, eh? Maybe, just maybe, I would have it if I would throw the memories of family members away towards the oblivion. hhmm..  I think that’s better. It’ll be sad, but that’s better. Or…since I have my retirement plan laid out carefully, I would spend some of my money in having a general anesthesia every time I feel sad. General Anethesia could make me forget somehow. But that would be stupid, isn’t it?

Grey clouds

When I was just a kid, my mom keeps on telling me to not to count the eggs until they’re hatched. It is a cliche but I think it should not be disregarded since it came from the magical box of golden rules. Anyway, for a couple of days now, my mom’s been pursuing an “I told you so” conversation with me because of “counting the eggs until they’re hatched”.  I am supposed to be on my way to North Mindanao at this hour but I can’t not because I am sick or anything, but because I don’t have enough money to go there. Yes I have the money to be used for my fare, but I can’t go just with that. I am human with other needs too, that’s why I have to get the means to cover for my needs. Actually, I am thinking of playing in an online casino. Who knows? This might be my lucky day! I am a risk taker just like my Dad. But being a risk taker that my Dad is, he (admittedly) said that he had lots of wrong choices that he made that resulted to the scarcity we’re having now. No, my Dad’s not a gambler, not even equal to being one, but he’s had lost something in his own “game” in life and now he’s trying hard to not to lose again. I think my Dad’s really brave, you know. Unlike some other dads out there, when they lose, they lose hope and stop trying. An online casino might be a good choice for me at the moment. Maybe a little yoga would do so that I can get the pot money and get my ass moving from this place.
